The order of the 1 hour PowerTeacher Pro training is below.

  • 1 minutes - Explain why we are switching from PTG to PTP because:
    • PowerSchool is ending support for the old gradebook.
    • The new gradebook is a webpage so grades can be done on any device with a web broswer.
    • The old gradebook required Java application which requires constant updating to patch security issues.
    • MessageSender can email parents using PowerSchool contacts (instead of demographic fields) so we can quit dual entry/updating email addresses.
  • 1 minutes - Introduce PowerTeacher Gradebook Captains (your building/grade range PTP captains).
    • Explain your role of the gradebook captains:
      • Lead this training and answer questions.
      • After the training, communicate the need to have their gradebook setup, check-in with teachers to make sure they setup their gradebooks in PTP (since the settings don't copy over from PTG), and continue to answer questions of your fellow teachers regarding their gradebooks.
  • 1 minutes - Explain the rollout and additional resources
    • As emailed, your gradebooks are being configured to use PowerTeacher Pro during this training.  You will need to open and set it up...more on that during the training.
    • For additional resources - Helpdesk > Browse Solutions > Power School > PowerTeacher
  • 41-47 minutes - Show PowerTeacher Pro training video
  • 13 minutes - Show the MessageSender video
  • Reminder: Their homework is to open their gradebook, convert it, and setup each section.
  • 10-15 minutes Q&A via zoom to NebPS (recordings posted after the meeting)
    • If no questions then you could pause the recording and do a quick demo of your gradebook
  • Reminder: Helpdesk > Browse Solutions > Power School > PowerTeacher

All sections set in PowerSchool to use PTP gradebook and ready to be opened, converted, and grade setup completed by the teacher.
